What does a "Domestic Water Boil Advisory" mean?
The Environmental Protection Agency as a policy of standard procedure, requires the utility to advise its customers of a water boil advisory.  This simply means that consumers vigorously boil, for at least 1 minute, any water used for drinking, cooking, or oral hygiene.  This is a precautionary measure.  Boil the water vigorously at or near 212ºF for one full minute to kill any disease causing bacteria that may be present in the water.  A microwave oven may be used to boil the water.
